安徽继远软件公司官网: How to Handle BYOD Mac Devices

If your organization manages your devices impeccably, then at first glance, you‘re doing everything right. But you may still be facing other challenges. There is a chance that not all devices moving around in your corporate network are being controlled by the same rules. Consistent device management is a good thing, but it should be designed as an exact fit. What about devices residing on the internal network but not belonging to the organization?

In nearly all cases, IT has to compromise when it comes to bring-your-own-device (BYOD). It’s not a good idea not to manage privately owned Mac? that have access to internal systems. To treat them exactly like the company’s own Mac devices isn’t an option, either. So what should you do?

Parallels? Mac Management for Microsoft? SCCM provides admins with the tools to manage corporate and personal devices—without treating them the same way. The Configuration Manager collects resources into distinct logical groups, known as collections. For example, unknown, unmanaged Mac devices are automatically listed under “Unknown MacOS X Systems.” Those collections open up the option to group devices automatically into a range of different “device categories.” Parallels Mac Management is capable of automatically creating two types of device collections within the SCCM Resource Explorer –?all macOS systems and unknown macOS systems –based on specific filter criteria, including system version, device type, and many others. This enables admins to treat devices in different ways, thus laying the basis for a specific BYOD-device policy.

BYOD

Devices owned by employees or contractors that have access to certain systems need their own policies and administration, separate from that of corporate devices. And IT is advised to create one or more device collections, each fitted with its own appropriate policy. This enables third-party devices and contractors to work productively in the organization without presenting a security risk. The issue is to develop a strategy for protecting critical systems effectively, without restricting devices too severely that are not owned by the organization. Parallels Mac Management provides IT teams with control over all devices on the network.
